I got this beautiful Essie nail polish in the colour Angora Cardi a few days ago. I thought a deep rose purple would be perfect for fall.
What do you think?
I love Scandinavian style when it comes to decoration – cause it’s so simple and minimalistic. Even better if it’s made of recycled materials and fair trade at the same time.
The “Oohh – Because Nature Inspires” collection by the Danish company Lübech Living is made by women from Sri Lanka who work from home, so they can take of their children.
I got this creased alu pot today. Isn’t it pretty?
And another month is coming to an end. Can’t believe it’s almost September already. Here in Norway the light is changing a little now, the sun is lower in the sky and the air you inhale is slightly more crisp than a few weeks ago.
It’s not too bad after all – summer here has been amazingly hot and I spent quite a lot of time on the beach this year. And when I lost my sunglasses yesterday, I decided that it might be time to embrace fall now.
But not before showing you my favourite products of this month.
This Face Sculptor by Isadora includes a bronzer, blusher and highlighter. All you need for contouring and highlighting your face. As described on the back of this product, you apply the blusher on the apples of your cheeks, the bronzer on the outer parts of your forehead, sides of your nose, underneath your cheekbones, chin and (if needed) the jawline. You highlight your forehead, cheekbones, chin, cupid’s bow, back of your nose and brow bones (I think highlighter only makes sense underneath your eyes when it’s not shimmery, so I don’t use it there as advised in the picture). The highlighter photographs perfectly and gives you a nice glow when using flash.
I used to use this mascara when I was a teenager and then for some reason neglected it for years. I recently re-discovered this L’oreal classic and can tell you it’s amazing. The Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black doesn’t only give you voluminous but also very long lashes. That’s all you can ask of a mascara.
The Make Up For Ever HD Foundation I was given by a person who didn’t like it at all. I was very grateful because I had wanted to try it for years. I actually like it a lot but then again every skin is different. I think it blends in very well, is invisible and looks flawless in photos. The coverage is buildable and ranges from sheer to almost full coverage.
There is nothing like a classic red on your nails. The Mavala nail polish in 185 Moscow is a timeless colour, it’s easy to apply, long-lasting and you only need one coat.
Organic Rosehip Oil is Miranda Kerr’s secret to glowing skin. I had wanted to try it for a while before I got it at John Lewis in Cambridge. They ship world wide though! The Trilogy version of this skin oil really works wonders on dry skin. But if you have oily to combination skin it doesn’t leave your skin greasy or shiny at all. I know what I’m talking about because I have dry skin in winter and rather oily skin in summer. I started using it again this month cause my skin was a bit flaky after sun bathing.
For some reason I have never been the kind of girl that likes expensive jewellery. If I had an unlimited amount to spend at Tiffany’s, I would get…nothing!
It might be the fact that custome jewellery is less expensive and you can just buy more of it but I also like that it is a little more plain. My favourite pieces are from H&M, topshop and Primark.
What are your thoughts on jewellery and where do you like to buy yours? Do you go for the budget version or like wearing genuine jewllery?
Having lived here in Norway for about six weeks now, I had some time to explore my new city and stores. I thought I’d a top 10 list of my favourite fashion shops here in Stavanger.

I know it’s pretty standard. But let’s be honest, ladies – what would we be without H&M? I think they simply have everything you need to dress well at any occasion.
I love living right by the sea! You get the most amazing views and can watch beautiful sunsets. My walk into the city center leads me along the waterfront and a little harbour with sailing boats.
But as autumn is close, it gets windier and a lot colder by the water. I found the perfect solution to keep myself warm: My new oversized scarf from H&M. I can wrap it around my shoulders or wear it around my neck depending on how chilly it is.
What is your favourite atumn accessory?
If you are looking for a an intense black eyeliner that lasts all day, I might have found the perfect one for you. I absolutely love the L’oreal Super Liner Gel Intenza.
It has a gel texture and is completely waterproof. It comes with an application brush that makes it easy to achieve an intense black or a slightly smudged finish.
Have you tried the L’oreal eyeliner yet or maybe have another favourite one?
Yesterday I took a walk along the sea by the lighthouse in Randaberg. It was really windy and for the first time this year I had to wear a scarf again.
Of course I’m a little sad that summer is over. But at the same time I think it’s nice being by the sea in this kind of weather when the wind is sweeping through your hair and the air smells of salt water.
I love flipping through catalogues, it feels kind of oldschool. So cool that H&M actually send catalogues to all their online costumers.
Autumn is close, so it was perfect timing for some next season inspiration.
Today my outfit matches the weather: Grey! Don’t you think that clouds always seem twice as bad after coming back from a beach holiday?
My favourite top never fails to make me feel a little better though. It’s from Moods of Norway, a brand that usually creates fashion in the craziest colours. I truly believe this is the only grey item the ever produced
I love how I can combine it with comfortable sneakers just as well as heels. Today I chose the laid-back version.
After a week in Marbella I am back in rainy Norway. Don’t you think that vacations always feel too short, no matter how long you stay?
Yesterday we had dinner and drinks in Puerto Banus, a beautiful little town near Marbella with an amazing marina. I did some shopping at Sephora. I get so excited about this store cause we don’t have it in Germany or Norway. Will show you what I bought back at home. Now getting ready for our last night here.
Have you ever heard about Hawaiian Tropic? I seriously don’t know how I could live without this stuff until now. They make sun protection and After Sun products. They smell amazing and leave your skin very soft.
Yesterday we spent all day in Seville. It was a 2.5 hour drive from Marbella but definitely worth it. It’s such a beautiful old city with lovely little streets and it’s full of flowers. I definitely have to go back there for longer some day.
Please tell me if you have any other tips about what to see here in Spain!
I have been in Marbella for two days now and it has been absolutely amazing! So nice to swim in the sea and have dinner by the beach! Of course I had to do a tiny bit of shopping as well
I know Essie has been around for a while but this is actually my first Essie nail polish. The colour is light pink and called Muchi Muchi.
What is your favourite Essie colour? Might have to get more of this amazing stuff
Yesterday I spent all day at Lydbølger, a festival at Bore Beach. It is the second time it takes place here in Norway and includes surfing, kite surfing, yoga and many different bands. Nice idea and also a nice wordplay, it means “sound waves”. We were really lucky to have such sunny weather.
Now I’m off to more beach and sun cause I’m flying to Spain
Look what I found in my mail! As I told you already, I am a big Kiehls fan and have lots of their amazing products. Now they have provided me with an Aromatic Blends set and a personal Kiehls Best Friends Club card, which means you get exclusive offers or invitations to events. Can’t wait to find out more!
Any other Kiehls fans out there or do you have another skincare brand that you swear by? Have a nice Friday evening everyone!
Summer in Norway might be over. I was able to sit down by the sea for about 10 minutes before it started raining again.
A perfect day to start packing for a week on the beach.
Have you ever tried the Garnier Skin Naturals Pure Active range? If not, you should! It’s the best skin care for skin imperfections and break-outs I’ve ever tried.
Only 3 days until I am going on a holiday to Marbella. I can’t wait. Has anyone of you ever been there? I was hoping to get some tips from you on what to see, where to go out and where to do some shopping.
My current hot spots after researching are these:
Since there is a lot of amazing graffiti in Stavanger I thought I’d do a post with some pictures to show you guys. I started with a place called Geopark, located outside the city’s oil museum.
It’s a playground made of resources from the offshore oil industry and is a project by Helen & Hard build in 2008. All objects are decorated with graffiti. I think it looks so cool!
Thank you simidayz for nominating me for Liebster Award!

What do you do when you finish dinner and realise that you don’t have any dessert in the house? I just had to go to the supermarket around the corner and get some sweets. The Norwegians call it Smågodt, the Germans gemischte Tüte and the English Pick & Mix. You chose your own sweets and put them in an old-fashioned little bag. I love this!
If you moved to another country and could only take one decoration article with you, what would it be? For me it was candle holders. I actually took more than just one with me, but considering that my old place in Germany was full of stuff it is not really much, is it?
I think candles create such a cozy atmosphere and can make almost any room look nice.
