One of this season’s must-haves are plain knit sweaters in neutral colours – easily to match with jeans or skirts, sneakers or high heels.
I found my favourite one at H&M last weekend.
Yesterday we probably had the last Barbecue of the year. It was really sunny and warm and so nice to watch the sunset over the sea.
I tried a new dessert which is quick and easy to make on a BBQ or in the oven.
All you need is bananas and some chocolate.
For months I had heard bloggers and Youtubers rave about Real Techniques brushes and was very keen to try them myself. Finally I found a shop that sells them here in Norway.
I got an angled foundation brush and have been using it for about two weeks.
So is it worth all the hype? That’s a clear yes!!!
I have tried it with different foundations: Sheer and high coverage, BB Cream and cream compact foundation. Whatever you use, it gives you a flawless high definition finish that makes any foundation undetectable on the skin. It’s easy to add many layers of foundation with this brush and still achieve a natural look.
Have you tried the Real Techniques bruhes yet? What is your favourite one?
This summer I have become addicted to frozen yoghurt. And it’s easy to make it at home.
For this version all you need is this:
You don’t need to buy many clothes….if you get the right basics. It’s easy to make an outfit look good for any occasion if you mix and match with the right shoes, jewellery and accessories. This season I love grey, white and black with silver, gold or pearl jewellery.
In these photos I’m wearing a blazer from H&M, a top from Selected Femme, skinny jeans from Bik Bok and high heels from Buffalo London.
My necklace is from Topshop and my bracelets are from Primark.
I used to be obsessed with primers but then for some reason haven’t used them in about two years. This one made me go back: The L’oreal Paris Nude Magique Blur Cream. The “Instant Flawless Perfector”, as it says on the bottle, claims to blur pores and refine the skin texture.
The Blur cream doesn’t provide any coverage but makes your skin look good in any light. My skin is in very good condition at the moment, so sometimes I use it without any other product on top. If you suffer from breakouts or other imperfections like discoloration, I still think the Blur Cream will do the job for you if you just add your favourite foundation, BB Cream or powder. If you do use a product on top of it, make sure you don’t apply too much of the Blur Cream as it is so smooth it will make anything else just slide off.
Have you tried the Blur Cream yet? What is your go to primer?
Being one of Kiehl’s best customers (haha) I get a lot of samples from them. The sachet samples last about two weeks, so even better when you get their luxury sized ones which come in a miniature version of the originals.
The Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate is the newest addition to Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions range and I was lucky enough to try it out before it was available in the stores. It claims to fight tired looking skin, dull appearence and rough looking skin texture. Although I have quite good skin in general, this gave me the freshest look and softest skin ever after using it every morning for about a week. I will definitely get a full size serum after using this up.
The iconic Kiehl’s product Ultra Facial Cream never fails to moisturize my skin, no matter what condition it is in. Since I have combination skin during the warmer season, this is a product I mainly use in winter or after sun-bathing on holiday when my skin is a bit more dry.
The Ultra Facial Toner claims to refine skin texture and gently removes surface debris. To be honest, I never really got the purpose of toners. Until I tried this one. It leaves my skin moisturized and silky soft.
I think most online orders I make are from H&M. In my opinion they just have the biggest variety of clothes. Work, party, sports, beach – you can find something for any occasion.
Asos is my favourite online shop when I look for something really laid back and cool or a dress for very special occasions. For some reason it’s never anything in between for me although I know they have a lot different stuff in many different styles.
I like Nelly because they have so many amazing brands I can’t get in the shops in Germany and/or Norway: Hunkydory, Hunkemöller…just to name a few. Oh, and they also sell make-up and cosmetics which is always a plus.
Conleys is not the cheapest store but it definitely has a very fine selection of brands. Just flipping through the catalogue (which you can order for free by the way) makes me happy Conleys is a German online store, but they ship to other European countries as well.
5. Victoria’s Secret
It was only recently that I discovered the Victoria’s Secret online store. Gone are the days I could only shop there when going abroad
Where do you do your online shopping? What are your favourite stores?
It doesn’t happen very often but today I was up so early that I could watch the sunrise. Had breakfast outside and watched the beautiful colours on the sky.
My today’s breakfast consisted of vanilla yoghurt, musli, banana slices and frozen berries.
Now it’s raining unfortunately. I guess I will curl up on the sofa and watch my favourite programmes.
What are you up to today? Have a lovely weekend everyone! x
There is nothing better than relaxing with a magazine and a cup of tea.
Getting inspired for fall by “Costume” with their special edition and drinking Whittard tea. Have you ever tried it? I always stock up on different blends at Fortnum & Mason when I’m in London. I just love their oldfashioned tins and caddies.
When I was still living in my place in Germany, I would just leave my key in the front door whenever I came home. Because of that I always knew where my keys were and I never forgot them when I left the house.
This little trick doesn’t work with only one door lock and two people in the house. Ever since I moved in with my boyfriend in Norway, we both kept our keys in different places each day and sometimes couldn’t find them.
There is a perfect solution that looks pretty as well. The Duo Sparrow Key Ring by Qualy. Keep them on the wall close to the door and put your key in when you step in.
Do you have any tricks to find your key? Where do you keep yours?
All you need for this healthy breakfast smoothie are berries, bananas, vanilla yoghurt and some apple juice. Mix everything in a blender… et voilá!
The day I bought my new sneakers I was actually looking for some black leather ankle boots for fall. In one of the shoe stores I saw some New Balance and thought why not quickly try them on – just to see how they look. I had always liked them but never owned any so far cause I found my pair of white Converse would be enough for the sneaker section in my closet.
I changed my mind as soon as I wore these very comfortable and surprisingly warm (therefore perfect for fall!) pair of New Balance that I now call my own.
I just love them! Maybe those leather boots can wait a bit longer
I love Scandinavian style when it comes to decoration – cause it’s so simple and minimalistic. Even better if it’s made of recycled materials and fair trade at the same time.
The “Oohh – Because Nature Inspires” collection by the Danish company Lübech Living is made by women from Sri Lanka who work from home, so they can take of their children.
I got this creased alu pot today. Isn’t it pretty?
And another month is coming to an end. Can’t believe it’s almost September already. Here in Norway the light is changing a little now, the sun is lower in the sky and the air you inhale is slightly more crisp than a few weeks ago.
It’s not too bad after all – summer here has been amazingly hot and I spent quite a lot of time on the beach this year. And when I lost my sunglasses yesterday, I decided that it might be time to embrace fall now.
But not before showing you my favourite products of this month.
This Face Sculptor by Isadora includes a bronzer, blusher and highlighter. All you need for contouring and highlighting your face. As described on the back of this product, you apply the blusher on the apples of your cheeks, the bronzer on the outer parts of your forehead, sides of your nose, underneath your cheekbones, chin and (if needed) the jawline. You highlight your forehead, cheekbones, chin, cupid’s bow, back of your nose and brow bones (I think highlighter only makes sense underneath your eyes when it’s not shimmery, so I don’t use it there as advised in the picture). The highlighter photographs perfectly and gives you a nice glow when using flash.
I used to use this mascara when I was a teenager and then for some reason neglected it for years. I recently re-discovered this L’oreal classic and can tell you it’s amazing. The Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black doesn’t only give you voluminous but also very long lashes. That’s all you can ask of a mascara.
The Make Up For Ever HD Foundation I was given by a person who didn’t like it at all. I was very grateful because I had wanted to try it for years. I actually like it a lot but then again every skin is different. I think it blends in very well, is invisible and looks flawless in photos. The coverage is buildable and ranges from sheer to almost full coverage.
There is nothing like a classic red on your nails. The Mavala nail polish in 185 Moscow is a timeless colour, it’s easy to apply, long-lasting and you only need one coat.
Organic Rosehip Oil is Miranda Kerr’s secret to glowing skin. I had wanted to try it for a while before I got it at John Lewis in Cambridge. They ship world wide though! The Trilogy version of this skin oil really works wonders on dry skin. But if you have oily to combination skin it doesn’t leave your skin greasy or shiny at all. I know what I’m talking about because I have dry skin in winter and rather oily skin in summer. I started using it again this month cause my skin was a bit flaky after sun bathing.
For some reason I have never been the kind of girl that likes expensive jewellery. If I had an unlimited amount to spend at Tiffany’s, I would get…nothing!
It might be the fact that custome jewellery is less expensive and you can just buy more of it but I also like that it is a little more plain. My favourite pieces are from H&M, topshop and Primark.
What are your thoughts on jewellery and where do you like to buy yours? Do you go for the budget version or like wearing genuine jewllery?
Having lived here in Norway for about six weeks now, I had some time to explore my new city and stores. I thought I’d a top 10 list of my favourite fashion shops here in Stavanger.

9. Fair Play

I know it’s pretty standard. But let’s be honest, ladies – what would we be without H&M? I think they simply have everything you need to dress well at any occasion.
I love living right by the sea! You get the most amazing views and can watch beautiful sunsets. My walk into the city center leads me along the waterfront and a little harbour with sailing boats.
But as autumn is close, it gets windier and a lot colder by the water. I found the perfect solution to keep myself warm: My new oversized scarf from H&M. I can wrap it around my shoulders or wear it around my neck depending on how chilly it is.
What is your favourite atumn accessory?
If you are looking for a an intense black eyeliner that lasts all day, I might have found the perfect one for you. I absolutely love the L’oreal Super Liner Gel Intenza.
It has a gel texture and is completely waterproof. It comes with an application brush that makes it easy to achieve an intense black or a slightly smudged finish.
Have you tried the L’oreal eyeliner yet or maybe have another favourite one?
