There is nothing better than relaxing with a magazine and a cup of tea.
Getting inspired for fall by “Costume” with their special edition and drinking Whittard tea. Have you ever tried it? I always stock up on different blends at Fortnum & Mason when I’m in London. I just love their oldfashioned tins and caddies.
The day I bought my new sneakers I was actually looking for some black leather ankle boots for fall. In one of the shoe stores I saw some New Balance and thought why not quickly try them on – just to see how they look. I had always liked them but never owned any so far cause I found my pair of white Converse would be enough for the sneaker section in my closet.
I changed my mind as soon as I wore these very comfortable and surprisingly warm (therefore perfect for fall!) pair of New Balance that I now call my own.
I just love them! Maybe those leather boots can wait a bit longer
Having lived here in Norway for about six weeks now, I had some time to explore my new city and stores. I thought I’d a top 10 list of my favourite fashion shops here in Stavanger.
You can also check out the shopping guide I made for stay.com, a very cool website with shopping, sightseeing and food tips for cities all over the world.

I know it’s pretty standard. But let’s be honest, ladies – what would we be without H&M? I think they simply have everything you need to dress well at any occasion.
I love living right by the sea! You get the most amazing views and can watch beautiful sunsets. My walk into the city center leads me along the waterfront and a little harbour with sailing boats.
But as autumn is close, it gets windier and a lot colder by the water. I found the perfect solution to keep myself warm: My new oversized scarf from H&M. I can wrap it around my shoulders or wear it around my neck depending on how chilly it is.
Yesterday I took a walk along the sea by the lighthouse in Randaberg. It was really windy and for the first time this year I had to wear a scarf again.
Of course I’m a little sad that summer is over. But at the same time I think it’s nice being by the sea in this kind of weather when the wind is sweeping through your hair and the air smells of salt water.
Today my outfit matches the weather: Grey! Don’t you think that clouds always seem twice as bad after coming back from a beach holiday?
My favourite top never fails to make me feel a little better though. It’s from Moods of Norway, a brand that usually creates fashion in the craziest colours. I truly believe this is the only grey item the ever produced
I love how I can combine it with comfortable sneakers just as well as heels. Today I chose the laid-back version.
Yesterday I spent all day at Lydbølger, a festival at Bore Beach. It is the second time it takes place here in Norway and includes surfing, kite surfing, yoga and many different bands. Nice idea and also a nice wordplay, it means “sound waves”. We were really lucky to have such sunny weather.
Now I’m off to more beach and sun cause I’m flying to Spain
What do you do when you finish dinner and realise that you don’t have any dessert in the house? I just had to go to the supermarket around the corner and get some sweets. The Norwegians call it Smågodt, the Germans gemischte Tüte and the English Pick & Mix. You chose your own sweets and put them in an old-fashioned little bag. I love this!
I forgot how great Accessorize was – until I saw these socks on someone else’s feet! Don’t you just love animal socks? They made me check out the Accessorize website today and I found amazing jewellery, bags and swimwear. I think I will stop by the store tomorrow.
Don’t you think that some Saturdays are just made for sleeping late and having coffee in bed? That’s exactly what I did today after a night with friends and a BBQ on the balcony.
Before getting dressed up for a night out later I decided to just throw on some comfy clothes. I have always liked tops with slogans but now I have found my ultimate accessory: Jewellery with a message.
My new double necklace from H&M has one lavaliere with a horse shoe and one that says “lucky”.
Have you ever found a shop that makes you want to get every piece they sell? I have! My recent discovery is called Monki. This London based brand has a store just around the corner. I had been passing it a few times until I eventually couldn’t resist anymore.
Monki has a lot of clothes with crazy patterns but also some very laid back basics that are easy to combine. Scroll down for the link to their online shop and also see my photos of their amazing changing rooms from inside!
When I looked out of the window this morning, I saw grey skies. Made me feel a little sad considering we had 30 degrees last week. But by the time I had turned on my computer and checked my email, I already felt better. All those newsletters about autumn fashion that I have been getting for dome days, suddenly felt just right. Is anyone else getting the autumn shopping vibe even if it’s only July?
I decided to do some next season fashion browsing and I found my today’s favourite on the H&M website: A black leather mini skirt.
Scroll down for picture and link.
What are your autumn must-haves? Any more ideas or online shops worth checking out?
The weather in Norway is still amazing. It was hot and sunny all week and it’s the first time ever that I actually LIVE nearby a beach. But of course you can’t be sun-tanning and swimming 24/7. Today we went into town and walked along the harbour, looked at all the delicacies at the food festival and had a smoothie at Joe and the Juice. Have you checked it out yet? They make the most delicious juices. It’s healthy and fresh as well.
Before heading into town for Gladmat, Scandinavia’s biggest food festival, I wanted to show you this beautiful red dress that I ordered from Asos some weeks ago. While originally looking for an outfit to wear at a wedding, I stumbled onto this. Nothing you could wear at a wedding I guess, but just couldn’t help it. I think it’s just lovely to wear bright colours in summer and I love the frill around the waist. Having combined it with very high heels today, I think you could also wear it in a more relaxed way with sandals or ballet flats.
Around this time of year the sun never completely sets in Norway. You can sit outside for hours and hours in the evening and the sky doesn’t change. And when the sun sets eventually, you can still see a purple line across the horizon.
In this light season I like wearing matching light colours. This summer it’s a lot of light pink and white, like my new bag and shoes from Dune. This shoe brand based in London finally made it to Germany and is available at Karstadt. They have beautiful details on all their items, which I absolutely love. Both the shoes and the purse are multi-coloured with gold.
I had no idea how hot it can be during summer in Norway before I moved here some days ago. I wasn’t going to wear my new bikini from Calzedonia until my Spain vacation next month but now I got to hang out on beautiful sandy beaches this weekend already.
I love the beautiful blue colour of the crochet layer on top of the white inside that shows through on the bikini.
After a day on the beach wearing it I can tell you that it’s comfortable to wear and you don’t have to move the straps or bottom back into place all the time. Also the fabric doesn’t lose its shape after a swim. I think it was a very good last buy I did in Germany before coming here. Well, in fact it’s not the only piece I bought at Calzedonia that day. I couldn’t resist getting a beautiful coral coloured bikini too which I am going to show you when I’m in Spain in a few weeks.
