For a while I really have been struggling with the colour royal blue. And although blue is my favourite colour in general, I really tried to avoid this particular shade for some reason.
I was circling royal blue clothes in the shop, tried something on every now and then and finally decided I would pass on this trend. Until I saw this: The blazer from Selected caught my attention immediately and is now one of my favourite pieces from my everyday wardrobe. Combined with neutral and light shades and some gold jewellery I think the blazer looks quite cool and edgy.
After a dark and grey Norwegian winter it feels nice to have some loud colours on me after all. What’s your favourite spring colour?
Not that it was anywhere near to warm enough for wearing short sleaves when I took these pictures, but I really wanted to show you this baby pink, silky top that I got from Topshop recently.
I like that it is so minimal and yet has a special detail on the back, which makes it perfect for any occasion.
Do you have a favourite piece in your wardrobe that you like to wear anytime and anyplace?
Although the Norwegian winter has been a bit lazy so far (as in no snow and quite warm), it gets really windy and chilly once the sun has set. Especially if you are walking along the coast.
This means I don’t leave the house without an oversized scarf and a wool hat anymore but my absolute favourites are my classic Norwegian mittens. They are handmade and 100% wool and I can tell you my hands have never been this warm in winter.
For years I have been avoiding glitter and sparkle on both clothes and jewelry. But these rings made me go back. When I saw them at H&M I just had to get them. As I have mentioned before, I hardly ever wear real silver and gold as I like to match my jewelry with my seasonal wardrobe and try something new every now and then.
Despite the sparkly bits on these rings they look quite subtle on the hand even if you wear all three of them at the same time.
Here in Norway there seems to be a time in autumn when wearing a jacket is too warm and wearing just a top is too cold. For weeks I have been leaving the house with a coat on and after a little while it got so warm I had to take it off… only to find myself freezing in no time again. What’s up with the weather here? It might be the air or simply the fact that I mainly seem to walk uphill around here, but I definitely needed to do something about it.
The solution to my little problem came in a shopping bag from Bik Bok. I got some cardigans which I found to be a good match for almost any kind of weather you can get around this season in Norway. They are really comfortable and – most importantly – not scratchy at all.
You don’t need to buy many clothes….if you get the right basics. It’s easy to make an outfit look good for any occasion if you mix and match with the right shoes, jewellery and accessories. This season I love grey, white and black with silver, gold or pearl jewellery.
In these photos I’m wearing a blazer from H&M, a top from Selected Femme, skinny jeans from Bik Bok and high heels from Buffalo London.
My necklace is from Topshop and my bracelets are from Primark.
I think most online orders I make are from H&M. In my opinion they just have the biggest variety of clothes. Work, party, sports, beach – you can find something for any occasion.
Asos is my favourite online shop when I look for something really laid back and cool or a dress for very special occasions. For some reason it’s never anything in between for me although I know they have a lot different stuff in many different styles.
I like Nelly because they have so many amazing brands I can’t get in the shops in Germany and/or Norway: Hunkydory, Hunkemöller…just to name a few. Oh, and they also sell make-up and cosmetics which is always a plus.
Conleys is not the cheapest store but it definitely has a very fine selection of brands. Just flipping through the catalogue (which you can order for free by the way) makes me happy Conleys is a German online store, but they ship to other European countries as well.
5. Victoria’s Secret
It was only recently that I discovered the Victoria’s Secret online store. Gone are the days I could only shop there when going abroad
Where do you do your online shopping? What are your favourite stores?
Having lived here in Norway for about six weeks now, I had some time to explore my new city and stores. I thought I’d a top 10 list of my favourite fashion shops here in Stavanger.
You can also check out the shopping guide I made for stay.com, a very cool website with shopping, sightseeing and food tips for cities all over the world.

I know it’s pretty standard. But let’s be honest, ladies – what would we be without H&M? I think they simply have everything you need to dress well at any occasion.
I love living right by the sea! You get the most amazing views and can watch beautiful sunsets. My walk into the city center leads me along the waterfront and a little harbour with sailing boats.
But as autumn is close, it gets windier and a lot colder by the water. I found the perfect solution to keep myself warm: My new oversized scarf from H&M. I can wrap it around my shoulders or wear it around my neck depending on how chilly it is.
Yesterday I took a walk along the sea by the lighthouse in Randaberg. It was really windy and for the first time this year I had to wear a scarf again.
Of course I’m a little sad that summer is over. But at the same time I think it’s nice being by the sea in this kind of weather when the wind is sweeping through your hair and the air smells of salt water.
Today my outfit matches the weather: Grey! Don’t you think that clouds always seem twice as bad after coming back from a beach holiday?
My favourite top never fails to make me feel a little better though. It’s from Moods of Norway, a brand that usually creates fashion in the craziest colours. I truly believe this is the only grey item the ever produced
I love how I can combine it with comfortable sneakers just as well as heels. Today I chose the laid-back version.
Yesterday we spent all day in Seville. It was a 2.5 hour drive from Marbella but definitely worth it. It’s such a beautiful old city with lovely little streets and it’s full of flowers. I definitely have to go back there for longer some day.
Please tell me if you have any other tips about what to see here in Spain!
Don’t you think that some Saturdays are just made for sleeping late and having coffee in bed? That’s exactly what I did today after a night with friends and a BBQ on the balcony.
Before getting dressed up for a night out later I decided to just throw on some comfy clothes. I have always liked tops with slogans but now I have found my ultimate accessory: Jewellery with a message.
My new double necklace from H&M has one lavaliere with a horse shoe and one that says “lucky”.
When I looked out of the window this morning, I saw grey skies. Made me feel a little sad considering we had 30 degrees last week. But by the time I had turned on my computer and checked my email, I already felt better. All those newsletters about autumn fashion that I have been getting for dome days, suddenly felt just right. Is anyone else getting the autumn shopping vibe even if it’s only July?
I decided to do some next season fashion browsing and I found my today’s favourite on the H&M website: A black leather mini skirt.
