Quick stop in London

A lot of exciting stuff happening at the moment: Last week we prepared for our move to Oslo and now we are on our way there.

But in between we had a stop in London for a wedding. It has been an amazing weekend with lots of sun, a good party and little sleep ;)

Now we have almost arrived in our new home. Can’t wait to unpack all the boxes and start decorating tomorrow! What did you getĀ up to this weekend?

Mini-Guide: London

What I love about London is that there is always something new to discover, no matter how many times you have been there before.
I absolutely love sightseeing and think London’s history is so interesting that I could do the most popular tourist places again and again.

But especially when you are among English people who have seen everything multiple times and when the obvious spots are too busy during Christmas time, it is nice to just hang out in the centre and look for presents.

Here is my mini guide for a short gift shopping weekend. I hope you enjoy!

Victoria's secret
If you (like me) live in a country where Victoria’s Secret doesn’t exist, you might find it just as exciting to look for underwear, accessories and make-up here.
111 New Bond Street
London
pralines
Be it a present or just a treat to yourself – Charbonnel et Walker is the right shop if you like chocolate in fancy design boxes.
28 Old Bond Street
London
Burlington Arcade
Burlington Arcade is always a good idea if you are looking for antique jewellery, decoration and accessories.
51 Piccadilly
London
Sotheby's auction house
Auction house Sotheby’s displays many different artefacts from paintings to jewellery. Not that I could afford anything in there but it is nice to look around. It has a small arty book shop as well which is perfect to find very unique presents.
34-35 New Bond Street
London
Fortnum & Mason
Fortnum & Mason: One of the oldest department stores in England is an absolute must for me every time I go to London. It still has that old-fashioned 19th century style and gives you the opportunity to shop for delicacies, clothes, cosmetics, decoration and accessories. I like to get tea there which comes in beautiful tin boxes and is absolutely delicious.

London

I am back from an amazing weekend in London. We had a delicious Christmas dinner with a nice bunch of people, exchanged Secret Santa presents and did some Christmas shopping.

London
I tried to pack light to leave some space for shopping items. Most important was my new top by Gina Tricot, my Secret Santa present, and my 2 Advent calendar bags for the weekend.
London shopping
We did some shopping at Liberty’s and Fortnum & Mason’s (two of the oldest department stores) and Church’s.

Relaxing

There is nothing better than relaxing with a magazine and a cup of tea.

Getting inspired for fall by “Costume” with their special edition and drinking Whittard tea. Have you ever tried it? I always stock up on different blends at Fortnum & Mason when I’m in London. I just love their oldfashioned tins and caddies.
